The program is specifically targeted to adolescents between
the ages of 8-16 who are rising 3rd thru 10th graders. Derby
Academy in Hingham will be the host for grades 3-5, while
Thayer Academy in Braintree will serve as host to grades 6-10.
The Project R.I.S.E. Summer Program provides enrolled students
with six (6) weeks (Monday, July 3rd - Friday, August 11th)
of programming that encompasses:
- Academically challenging and re-enforcing course work
in - Cultural History, English, Math, Science, and study
& organizational skills- presented in small classroom
settings with a typical student to teacher ratio of 9 to
1. Specialized areas include standardized test preparation
and pre and post testing.
- 5 off-campus field trips and daily social activities
(i.e. swimming, arts & crafts, sports)
- Cultural enrichment, which may feature artistic presentations
and discussion topics about social and health, issues as
well as college planning, career options, and financial
management.
- Daily roundtrip bus transportation from Boston to Braintree/Hingham
and back to Boston.
- Hot lunches provided daily.
- Awards & prizes at the Closing Ceremonies.

Curriculum: Math, English, Science, History,
Remedial Math, Study and Organizational Skills
Students participate in structured classes under the instruction
of local public and private high school teachers and college
professors. Class schedules were Monday through Thursday
On Fridays, field trips extra curricular activities in the
past include trips to the Museum of Science, Museum of Fine
Arts and Multicultural history: African American history and
cultures, study of Hispanic cultures and society, and popular
topics in American History and society.
Additional instruction offered to students to enhance and/or
improve their academic skills in select areas of need.

SCHOOL YEAR PROGRAM
The Year-long after school program housed in the heart of
Boston’s inner city: Vine Street Community Center in
Roxbury, MA. The purpose is to fulfill the need of students
for a full-time program to maximize their development and
achieve their goals
Students are instructed in college level exam taking techniques
including organizing and functioning effectively in study
groups and outlining and preparing for final examinations.
Preparatory courses are offered for tests such as the MCAS,
SAT, SSAT, and ISEE. Emphasis is on early intervention through
a comprehensive parent component whereby:
- Written progress reports are sent (1 per week/month)

- Present number of Program alumni in college totals 42
- Eleven alumni have already graduated from college

- Some attend Parochial School eg. BC High, CM, Notre Dame
